The ENVISAGE RHU has completed phase 1 of the mobilization of nearly 2,000 TAVI scans for 2020-2024 patients at Bordeaux University Hospital, a major milestone that provides a solid, secure imaging base ready to be exploited for the development of artificial intelligence models.
A decisive step in building the database
The mobilization of TAVI CTs represented a major undertaking, involving rigorous selection of sessions meeting the criteria defined by the project protocol. Dr Bonnet, with the assistance of RHU ENVISAGE fellows, oversaw this essential step to guarantee data quality and consistency. Each scan was examined and validated to form a homogeneous corpus, essential for future analyses and for training the algorithms.
Once the sessions had been selected, they were imported by the project's technical team into XNAT, the imaging storage platform dedicated to ENVISAGE.
This secure, high-performance environment not only enables data to be centralized, but also organized, annotated and made accessible to authorized partners for the development of artificial intelligence models, while guaranteeing that sensitive data never leaves Bordeaux University Hospital.
This milestone marks a strategic milestone for the project: the database now provides a solid foundation for the annotation phase, methodological development and clinical validation of AI tools. It also illustrates the effective collaboration between the clinical and technical teams, and the central role of the fellows in the concrete implementation of the protocol.
The end of TAVI CT mobilization now paves the way for the next phase of the project, which will involve exploiting this data to generate accurate annotations and enable the project partners to develop innovative solutions for the management of TAVI patients.
